मेडिकल साइंस के इतिहास का एक अजूबा

वह महिला अगर चीन में होती तो शायद सजा की हकदार होती लेकिन वह भारत में है तो सुरक्षित है। बच्चे एक-दो नहीं बल्कि दस! आज के जमाने में छोटा परिवार सुखी परिवार माना जाता है लेकिन हर चीज आपके मन मुताबिक नहीं होती। कुछ चीजें आज भी विधाता की मर्जी से ही होती हैं। आप लाख परिवार नियोजन अपना लो कि बस एक ही बच्चा चाहिए लेकिन भगवान की मर्जी.आपको जुड़वा बच्चे हो गए तो कुछ नहीं कर सकते। लेकिन जुड़वा बच्चों में भी दो-तीन, चार भी आपने सुना होगा..
10 बच्चों के बारे शायद न सुना हो। अभी हाल ही में ऐसी ही घटना सामने आई तो सभी हैरान रह गए। अब तक के मेडिकल इतिहास में यह सबसे अधिक जुड़वा बच्चों का रिकॉर्ड है। मध्य प्रदेश का रीवा शहर उस वक्त मीडिया की सुर्खियों में आ गया जब यहां अंजू नाम की गर्भवती महिला के 10 बच्चे होने की खबर आई। रीवा के संजय गाधी मेमोरियल अस्पताल में 28 वर्षीय अंजू ने 10 बच्चों को जन्म दिया। हालांकि सभी बच्चे मृत पैदा हुए लेकिन मेडिकल साइंस के इतिहास में भी यह एक अजूबा से कम नहीं। डॉक्टर भी इसे एक अजूबा ही मान रहे हैं।
मध्य प्रदेश में सतना जिले की अंजू कुशवाहा और संतोष की शादी 10 साल पहले हुई थी। तब से उनके कोई बच्चा नहीं था। चार महीने पहले अंजू के पेट में दर्द होने के बाद जब संतोष ने स्थानीय डॉक्टरों को दिखाया तो उन्हें समझ नहीं आया। जबलपुर आकर वहां डॉक्टरों को दिखाने पर पता चला कि अंजू के पेट में एक से अधिक भ्रूण पल रहे हैं। डॉक्टरों ने इसे चिंताजनक बताते हुए तत्काल संतोष से अंजू का फीडल रिडक्शन कराने की बात कही। इस प्रक्रिया में एक भ्रूण को बचाते हुए अन्य भ्रूण को नष्ट कर दिया जाता है।
संतोष इसके लिए तत्काल तैयार नहीं था। बीते रविवार आधी रात के करीब अंजू के पेट में तेज दर्द हुआ। संतोष उसे संजय गांधी मेमोरियल अस्पताल लेकर गया लेकिन अस्पताल पहुंचने से पहले रास्ते में ही 9 बच्चों का जन्म हो चुका था। अस्पताल में 10वें बच्चे का जन्म हुआ लेकिन प्री-मैच्योर बारह माह के इस बच्चे को भी बचाया नहीं जा सका। डॉक्टरों की मानें तो यह घटना अजूबा है लेकिन शायद बांझपन के ईलाज में दवाइयों के ज्यादा इस्तेमाल का कुप्रभाव हो सकती है।
हालांकि अंजू और उसके परिजन सतना के स्थानीय डॉक्टरों की दवाइयों के अलावा बांझपन के लिए अन्य किसी भी प्रकार के डॉक्टरी इलाज लेने से इनकार करते हैं लेकिन डॉक्टर अंजू का मेडिकल इतिहास जानने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं कि कहीं उसने कभी आईवीएफ ट्रीटमेंट तो नहीं लिया था। बहरहाल हर किसी के लिए यह एक अजूबी खबर है लेकिन अंजू के लिए यह एक और दुख भरी खबर है। 10 साल के बाद दस बच्चों की मां बनकर भी उसके आज भी बच्चा नहीं है।

Kumbh Mela is a mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river. It is considered to be largest peaceful gathering in the world with over 100 million people visiting during the Maha Kumbh Mela in 2013. It is held every third year at one of the four places by rotation: Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayaga), Nashik and Ujjain. Thus the Kumbh Mela is held at each of these four places every twelfth year. Ardha ("Half") Kumbh Mela is held at only two places, Haridwar and Allahabad, every sixth year. The rivers at these four places are: the Ganges (Ganga) at Haridwar, the confluence (Sangam) of the Ganges and the Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati at Allahabad, the Godawari at Nashik, and the Shipra at Ujjain.

The name Kumbh Mela comes from Hindi, and in the original Sanskrit and other Indian languages it is more often known as Kumbha Mela. Kumbha means a pitcher and Mela means fair in Sanskrit. The pilgrimage is held for about one and a half months at each of these four places where it is believed in Hinduism that drops of nectar fell from the kumbha carried by gods after the sea was churned. The festival is billed as the "world’s largest congregation of religious pilgrims". There is no scientific method of ascertaining the number of pilgrims, and the estimates of the number of pilgrims bathing on the most auspicious day may vary; approximately 80 million people attended on 14 February 2013.

Kumbh Mela takes place every twelve years at one of four places: Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik. The Mela in its different forms alternates between Prayag, Nashik, Ujjain and Haridwar every third year.The Ardha (half) Kumbh Mela is celebrated every six years at only two places, Haridwar and Prayag.
